Does MACE 69MM BORED OUT THROTTLE BODY TO SUIT HOLDEN ECOTEC L36 L67 S/C 3.8L V6 suit US L67 Grandprix with the 3.8L SC engine with the same bolt pattern?
It doesn't unfortunately.
What is the difference between the MACE 69MM BORED OUT THROTTLE BODY for Holden VS, VT, VX, WH and the one for VY Ecotec L36/L67 Supercharged 3.8L V6?
The main difference lies in the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve port. The VY throttle body has a larger diameter IAC port compared to earlier models. You can fit an early-model throttle body to a VY, but you cannot run a VY throttle body on an earlier model unless you also use a VY IAC control valve, as it has a larger diameter head. If a smaller early-model IAC head is used with a VY throttle body, it may unwind itself and fail.
Does your 69mm throttle body to suit Holden VS VT VX VU VY ECOTEC & L67 3.8L V6 work with cruise control?
Yes, it does.
If I buy a throttle body, do I also need to upgrade to a larger MAF (Mass Airflow Meter)?
No, that’s not required. The throttle bodies are designed as a straight bolt-on modification and will work with the factory MAF.
Can you supply a tune for the MACE 69mm bored-out throttle body to suit Holden Ecotec L36 L67 Supercharged 3.8L V6?
Yes, we can. Depending on the year of your Commodore and the other modifications you have made or plan to make, we can supply either a MEMCAL or a computer tune to suit the throttle body.
Do I need to modify or add anything else when fitting a bored-out throttle body?
Our throttle bodies for V6 and V8 engines are a direct replacement for the factory unit, so no additional modifications are required. However, for MAF-tuned Commodores (such as the Ecotec and VS Series III Holden V8), we recommend fitting the bored-out throttle body in conjunction with a reprogrammed PCM/memcal, as the throttle body can slightly alter the transmission shift points.
